To teach the new generation to be the keepers of the memory of the Shoah . This is the purpose of the two day journey (18-19 January) to Poland that the Italian Ministry of Education and the Union of Italian Jewish Communities (UCEI) has organized for 200 students from all over Italy. <\/p>\n

Through the words and memories of the Shoah survivors Andra and Tatiana Bucci and Sami Modiano the students will try to understand the tragedy of Auschwitz where the human beings were annihilated. With them will be: the Italian Minister of Education Stefania Giannini, the president of the UCEI Renzo Gattegna, the president of Italian rabbinical Assembly, Chief Rabbi of Genoa Giuseppe Momigliano and professor Giovanni Maria Flick, honorary chairman of the Holocaust Museum in Rome. Others going are: the Director and Head of Finance for the UCEI, Noemi Di Segni and the president of the Jewish Community of Florence Sara Cividalli. During these two days Marcello Pezzetti, scientific director of the Foundation Museum of the Holocaust will explain to the students what Jewish life in Krakow was like during the war and the creation of Auschwitz by the Nazis. <\/p>\n

During the visit to the Temple Synagogue of Krakow, president Gattegna and Minister Giannini will sign the renewal of the Memorandum for the celebration of the Day of the Shoah.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
