Bnei Brith, one of the most ancient Jewish organizations in the world, donated to Lombardy Region 27,000 high-definition masks made of washable and reusable plexiglass. <\/p>\n

Over the last few days, the organization has responded to the request of its Italian branch by promoting a fundraising campaign coordinated by President Charles Kaufman and CEO Daniel Mariaschin, in collaboration with the US Consulate General in Milan and United Parcel Service Foundations.<\/p>\n

As announced in a note by Sandro Di Castro, President of Bnei Berith Roma, the equipment was provided by Brother\u2019s Brother Foundation, which owns medical supplies that are delivered abroad in case of disasters and humanitarian needs. Furthermore, UPS Foundation has sponsored free-of-charge transportation of the masks from Baltimore to Milan, in close coordination with the US Consulate and Commercial Service. The personal protective equipment will be distributed \u201cto hospitals and medical staff\u201d, the note says.<\/p>\n

Local institutions expressed great appreciation for this donation. \u201cThis is a concrete act of solidarity, which confirms the close friendship between the United States, the Jewish community and Lombardy Region. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Bnei Brith and UPS Foundation,\u201d said Alan Rizzi, Lombardy Region\u2019s undersecretary to the President of the Council.<\/p>\n
