On the World Children\u2019s Day, a new solidarity initiative promoted by the Jewish Community of Rome recalled the 38 minors held hostage by Hamas terrorists in Gaza under the slogan “Bring them home now”. Portraits of the hostages were displayed on the steps of the Ara Coeli, one of the most symbolic places in the capital, while some blindfolded young people brandished signs in English asking UNICEF, the United Nations children’s fund, to protect \u201cevery child\u201d. The initiative, the Community announced, was aimed “not to forget the kidnapped children and defend a world in which the right to safety of every child is guaranteed”. Another project, titled \u201cInterrupted Dreams\u201d, brings to attention the children kidnapped by Hamas. Born from an idea by Alan David Baumann shared with Shoah survivor Edith Bruck, it is an album that appears empty, because – underlines Baumann – the children of the kibbutzim hit by Hamas “did not have time to draw, scribble, impress their thoughts on it”, young lovers “were not able to write poems on it”, and those who went to the rave “did not have the opportunity to bring us musical notes or transcribe the lyrics of some songs”.
