“Leggimi”, la lecture est plus facile
avec le journal juif pour les enfants

Lire avec énorme difficulté, lutter pur décodifier un texte, affronter la lecture avec souffrance, même s’il s’agit d’un nombre très petit des pages, il ne s’agit pas de paresse. Il ne s’agit pas d’être négligent ou indifférent. La dyslexie en Italie n’est pas encore vraiment reconnue et pourtant, selon l’Association Italienne Dyslexie, au moins un élève pour classe souffre de cette difficulté. Les troubles spécifiques de l’apprentissage (TSA) sont des troubles du neurodéveloppement qui concernent la capacité de lire, écrire et calculer de manière correcte et fluide et qui ont la tendance à se manifester avec le début de la scolarisation. “Il est intelligent, mais il n’a aucune envie de s’engager à l’école”, “Il pourrait faire beaucoup mieux”, parfois, il s’agit de paresse, mais pour la plupart du temps il y a une multiplicité des raisons qui rendent difficiles l’acquisition des capacités de lecture.
Les causes peuvent être dyslexie, troubles visifs ou difficulté de concentration, il y a quand même une solution: simplifier la lecture n’est pas impossible. Les instruments existent, et DafDaf a fait son choix: Dès le dèbut de la distribution du numéro de cette semaine, le jourmal juif pour les enfants a décidé d’utiliser un charactère typographique spécifique.
Un choix qui a été longtemps méditée, qui a pu être mise en acte grâce à Sinnos, la maison d’édition spécialisée pour les enfants/es et en littérature enfantine, et que dès du 2006 a réalisée un charactère typographique spécifique et a individuée des paramètres graphiques et règles de rédaction qui permettent aux lecteurs de surmonter obstacles et peurs. Le choix de DafDaf est très clair: passer au charactère à haute lisibilité, et en outre, ouvrir des pages qui expliquent aux jeunes lecteurs les causes d’un choix raisonné et partagé: “Qu’est-ce que c’est la haute lisibilité? lire est une activité complexe et qui demande beaucoup d’effort. Pour tout le monde. C’est une défie faire lire enfants et enfantes. Aujourd’hui il s’agit d’un devoir encore plus difficile: Il y a des alternatives à la lecture qui sont beaucoup moins fatigantes et qui sont très gratifiantes. Les pages blanches avec tous ces marques qui doivent être mis en ensemble à fin qu’ils deviennent des mots et après phrases, qui après doivent être connectées à nos expériences, parfois sont des obstacles insurmontables, ou simplement detestable”.

The effort of reading, the conquest of reading

The autobiography of philosopher Jean Paul Sartre (“Les Mots”, The Words) consists, as it is well known, of only two chapters. The title of the final part is “Writing”, and describes how one of the greatest thinkers of the twentieth century conceived his work. Conversely, the title of the first chapter is “Reading”. It talks about getting to have something to say. These two excerpts could easily be applied, respectively, to the idea of listening and expressing oneself, as well.
In a world of exhibitionist and delirious graphomaniacs, in the vortex of worthless and resentful words that fuel the great social network machine of hatred and ignorance, in a society where, nearly always, succeeding is more important than listening to the others, there are some who believe that reading only the chapter “Writing” is enough. However, without its essential introduction, the final chapter appears to be just a grotesque mise-en-scene.
Being able to read and appreciate its taste is a necessary step. The strain of reading, the conquest of reading, the emotion of reading. In this difficult and uncertain time, we must hand to our youngsters this precious gift. We have the power to clear their way, remove the obstacles that in some cases might make this reading experience discouraging.
Thanks to scientific research, medical knowledge and experience of graphics and typography, reading could become an exciting journey. DafDaf, the Jewish periodical for children, published monthly in this newsroom, has decided to be an example through the greatest gift, the friendship and generosity of Sinnos publisher. Spontaneous, living pages to leaf through, for a reality that cannot only celebrate a glorious past, but that has also to write new chapters to the future and not to get lost.
It's a further opportunity to rest for a moment, safe from the poison of digital dementia, side by side with those we want to see grow up free in a better world.

Against fascist tourism

“Fascist delirium in Predappio”. So, correctly, the Italian daily La Stampa defined the recent actions that happened in Predappio and the city’s situation (last week hundreds congregated in Predappio, the birthplace of Mussolini, to commemorate the 99th anniversary of the March on Rome). But I would like to suggest a question and a proposal. Contrasting the rallies of the wretched comrades in pilgrimage to Mussolini’s tomb can create public order problems hard to contain. Therefore, the area’s public order official can fairly consider minor harm to the Law to tolerate these shameful nostalgic demonstrations rather than dutifully contrast them. However, the administrative inertia toward the shops of nostalgic fascist memorabilia is not justifiable at all. Why during the week, when “nostalgic tourism” is lower than on weekends, authorities do not intervene to seize all the nostalgic material from shops’ shelves and warehouses”?

La escritora de origen judío Edith Bruck rechaza
el premio de la ciudad de Anzio
porque el Ayuntamiento sigue honrando a Mussolini
Edith Bruck, escritora italiana de origen judío, de 90 años y superviviente del campo de exterminio nazi de Auschwitz ha copado los titulares de prensa en Italia tras rechazar la condecoración de la ciudad de Anzio, en el centro del país, porque en 2019 el Ayuntamiento de la ciudad rechazó homenajear a Adele Di Consiglio, judía y vecina de la ciudad perseguida durante los años de la Segunda Guerra Mundial.Además, Anzio aún mantiene la ciudadanía de honor al dictador Benito Mussolini, lo que ha reforzado la negativa de Bruck. “Lo agradezco pero no puedo aceptar el Premio por la Paz donde fermenta la nostalgia activa por la época más vergonzosa, imborrable para quienes la vivieron”, escribió Bruck en una carta abierta al alcalde de Anzio, el conservador Candido De Angelis, según recoge la agencia EFE.
