Donazioni per ospedale pediatrico in memoria di Colette Shama

Cari amici,

in memoria di Colette Shama, bravissima pediatra milanese che è mancata recentemente, è partita una raccolta fondi a favore di Alyn, ospedale a Gerusalemme leader nella riabilitazione pediatrica, presso il quale vengono curati i bambini di tutte le religioni e di tutte le etnie.

Con competenza ed amore lo staff di Alyn aiuta ogni piccolo paziente e la sua famiglia a raggiungere il massimo grado di indipendenza dalla propria disabilità .

Colette ha dedicato la sua vita ai bambini, crediamo che questo sia il miglior modo di continuare la sua missione!

Di seguito quattro progetti già approvati dal Board di Alyn:

A RESPIRATOR – Board approved ref: 5/1.1 – Cost : € 12,000

We constantly need to replenish our supply of respirators for our unique Pediatric Respiratory Rehabilitation Department run by Dr. Eliezer Be’eri. All the patients in this Department are respirator dependent and include premature babies with respiratory problems, patients with respiratory disorders caused by neuromuscular disease or spinal cord injuries.
Donations for the underwriting of the purchase of a respirator not only ensure quality of life for our patients undergoing rehabilitation here at ALYN Hospital… but provide the gift of life itself.

HUMIDIFIER WITH SPECIAL ACCESSORIES FOR SMALL BABIES – Board approved ref: 5/8 – Cost:
€ 4,650

A humidifier maintains the humidity of the air that a ventilated patient receives, via the ventilator, at normal, healthy levels. Without a humidifier, the air is too dry and this damages the insides of the patient’s lungs. In a non-ventilated patient, inspired air becomes humidified as it passes through the patient’s nose. But, in patients with a tracheostomy, the air does not flow through their nose and is therefore too dry for the lungs necessitating the addition of humidity artificially through the use of a humidifier.

SUCTION MACHINE ON A TROLLEY – Board approved ref: 5/6.1 – Cost: €3,550

This kind of Suction Machine is also used to remove the fluid that collects in the lungs of patients who are connected to respirators. But unlike the smaller portable suction machines that can be carried around in a small “suitcase” with straps on the shoulder or placed on a shelf of a wheelchair, these suction machines are of a much heavier and stronger type and need to be affixed to a specially designed trolley in order to enable them to be moved within the area of the Department in which they are located for the treatment of patients in that Department.

PORTABLE SUCTION MACHINE – Board approved ref: 5/3.3 – Cost: € 925

A Suction Machine is used to remove the fluid that collects in the lungs of patients who are connected to respirators. Portable Suction Machines are powered by battery pack, each unit is compact and carried in a small suitcase, enabling it to be used within the hospital and especially when the respirated patients need to be taken from the Unit to other parts of the Hospital for treatment and/or to leave the hospital, either to go on a home visit, or for an outing with family members.
