SUMMER BOOKS Conta le stelle, se puoi

italicsBy Daniela Gross

Moise Levi is 23 years old, when he leaves Fossano for Turin in search of fortune, bringing with him only a chariot full of rags. He will start an incredibly successful clothing trade, will get married, have six sons, and many grandchildren (the title of the book, published in 2008, in English translates to “Count the stars, if you are able” recalling the words of God to Abraham about his descent). Even the World War II won’t hurt Moise’s life, because the author Elena Lowenthal radically changes history as we know it, setting up a lucky plot twist.
