NEWS The Union of Italian Jewish Youth at a Crossroads
The Union of Italian Jewish Youth (UGEI), which represents Italian Jewish students and young professionals ages 18-35, has failed to elect its new board for 2015. Due to a lack of candidates, the participants of the twentieth congress of the organization, which took place in Florence from November 28th to November 30th, have decided to convene an extraordinary congress to focus on the most important issues concerning the future of the UGEI as well as to elect the new board. An emergency committee to assist the 2014 board in preparing the event was also formed. These decisions were taken by the organization after three intense days in Florence. The extraordinary Congress will take place in Milan next spring.
