PASSOVER – 300 packages from UCEI to help celebrate

For the third year in a row, the Union of the Italian Jewish Communities (UCEI) renewed its commitment to help families celebrate Passover. More than 300 packages of kosher for Passover products were delivered to Italian Jewish Communities. “We were able to distribute the packages again this year. We added more products than in the past, includind those required for the Seder (the ritual meal at the beginning of the holiday), so that everyone can fully celebrate Passover. It is a very important project,” the vice-president of the UCEI and Social Affairs delegate, Milo Hasbani, who promoted the initiative, told Pagine Ebraiche.

The packages were sent to individuals and families followed by the UCEI Social Service, and this year an effort was made to increase the number of recipients, Hasbani also said. “The operation was possible thanks to a private donation from abroad, which covered all the expenses.” The packages were delivered at the end of March and some went beyond Italy. Thirty were sent to Egypt, to the Jewish communities of Cairo and Alexandria.
