The president of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, met with the president of the World Jewish Congress, Ronald Lauder, at the Quirinale Palace in Rome last week.

Accompanying Lauder was the president of the Union of Italian Jewish Communities, Noemi Di Segni. Ms. Segni recently joined the board of the WJC as deputy chair for international diplomatic affairs.

Lauder was in Rome to attend the inauguration of the exhibit “Menorah: Cult, History and Myth,” co-hosted by the Vatican Museum and the Rome Jewish Museum. The project marks the first cooperation of this kind between the two museums. It will run through July 23.
