TURIN – The Jewish Brigade’s history on display

On the run-up to April 25, Italy’s Liberation Day from Nazi Fascism, an exhibition has opened in Turin on the role played by 5,000 Jewish volunteers of the British Army recruited in the Mandated Palestine, the future state of Israel. Titled “La Brigata ebraica e la Liberazione” (The Jewish Brigade and the Liberation), the exhibition is curated by Stefano Scaletta, author of the book La Brigata Ebraica tra guerra e salvataggio degli ebrei sopravvissuti alla Shoah – 1939-1947, (The Jewish Brigade between war and rescue of the Jews surviving the Shoah), published by Zamorani.
The exhibition will be open until May 4 at the Camis de Fonseca Association. It was realized thanks to the support of the Gaetano Salvemini Historical Studies Foundation, the Italy-Israel Association of Turin, the Jewish Brigade National Study Center and the collaboration of the Jewish Community.
