By Pagine Ebraiche staff
For the fourth year in a row, a Limmud event took place in Florence, Italy in the first week of June.
Based on the format started in the United Kingdom over thirty years ago, Limmud events bring together thousands of participants from all over the world to many different locations for programs devoted to Jewish education in all forms.
The three day Italian event, completely booked since April, featured over 50 sessions over the course of a week end from Friday to Sunday. It also offered activities for children in the tradition of Young Limmud.
Among the topics discussed were Italian Jewish history, the situation of Israel and the Middle East, the challenges confronting contemporary Jewish leaders (among the speakers was the president of the Union of Italian Jewish Communities Noemi Di Segni).
