UCEI – Registrations open for three-year degree in Jewish Studies
Registrations are now open for the UCEI’s three-year University Degree in Jewish Studies. Established in 2000 as an extension of the Italian Rabbinical College, this program will soon celebrate its 25th anniversary during the new academic year 2024-2025, which corresponds to the Jewish year 5785.
The program aims to provide “qualified foundational, methodological, and content-related training” in philological, literary, historical, and philosophical studies related to Jewish culture. Directed by Rabbi Riccardo Di Segni and coordinated by Myriam Silvera, the degree – named in memory of former UCEI President Renzo Gattegna z.l. – was officially recognized by the Ministry of Education in 2004 and grants access to master’s degree programs. Students are required to complete 180 credits, pass eleven exams in mandatory subjects and eight in supplementary subjects, demonstrate language proficiency, pass a computer skills test, and complete a final exam.
